Draft pending legal review. This text is not yet in effect and may change before Blogaly launches.
1. Overview
This policy explains what data Blogaly collects, why, and what you can do about it. Blogaly is a private, hosted publishing platform.
2. Data we collect
- Account data: the name, email, and login details you give us.
- Content data: the posts, pages, images, and settings you create.
- Member data: if you run a membership site, the data your own readers give you (such as their email) is processed by Blogaly on your behalf.
- Usage data: basic logs and analytics needed to run and secure the service, such as IP address, browser, and page requests.
- Payment data: if a paid plan applies, billing details are handled by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers.
3. Why we use it
We use your data to:
- run the service and show your site,
- send transactional email such as sign-in links and receipts,
- keep the service secure and prevent abuse,
- and meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell your data.
4. Sharing
We share data only with the service providers we need to run Blogaly — for example, hosting, storage, email delivery, and payments. They may only use it to provide their service to us. We may also share data where the law requires it.
5. Your role as a site operator
If you run a site on Blogaly, you are the controller of your readers' data and Blogaly processes it for you. You are responsible for having your own privacy notice and a lawful basis for the data you collect.
6. Storage and retention
We keep your data while your account is active and for as long as we need it to run the service and meet legal duties. You can export or delete your content. When you close your account, we delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, unless the law requires us to keep it.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to some processing. Contact us to exercise them.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
9. International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we put appropriate safeguards in place for those transfers.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If a change is significant, we will give notice.
11. Contact
Questions about privacy go to the Blogaly team. A privacy contact address will be added before launch.
